Summerfield,
Florida has been my home for the last ten years, after spending the
first forty plus years in Maine. I took a drawing class at the Maine
School of Art and
was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. I moved to
Florida and took several art
classes and the rest is history.
I've been a member of Gallery East for about eight years. For the last
seven I've
been the treasurer. Acrylic painting is my medium of choice
as I feel at home with
its fast drying properties and water clean up. My
main subjects are animals and landscapes but, I enjoy the challenge of
trying different things. My work has been displayed at many art shows
and has won numerous awards. I also enjoy entering
and selling at many
art fairs in Florida and Maine.

Gilman |

Acrylic Painting

Patti is an acrylic
painter, has a BA in English from the University of Vermont and
studied
art at Central Florida Community College in Ocala. She specializes in
portraits of children doing what children do, and captures "slice
of life" likenesses,
as well as formal portraiture. Florida landscapes and the endangered
places that
are being destroyed by relentless development, hold special appeal to
her since the
Ocala area is fast changing from a sleepy Florida
environment into the predictable
flat urban sprawl.

Patricia has taken a hobby
and turned it into a career. The continued evolution of Patricias
photography can be seen throughout her work. Indeed, a new perspective
shines through with the advent of Positively Negative Expressions by
Patricia Roberts. Seeing is believing and seeing from a different
perspective is truly inspiring. Positively Negative asks us to examine
our closely held beliefs about what we see and feel. It moves us
effortlessly to a new plain and begs us to see through unpolluted eyes
the world around us. Open your mind, walk through the images and enjoy
the view. Her photos can be seen at
